Portal's investment strategy allows for investment in start-up companies looking for first round funding through to later-stage companies focused on product development.

The majority of proprietary deal flow originates from personal initiative, university contacts, and Portal's international network of contacts in the scientific and financial communities.

To identify potential investments, Portal taps into the expertise of its networks, while at the same time following its own rigorous, analytical investment process. In most cases, Portal takes the role of lead investor, and helps to create optimal value in each investment by assigning one of its experienced partners to the portfolio company's supervisory board, to actively support the management team in developing strategic plans, operating priorities, and exit scenarios.

We formed Portal Development Partners, LLC to provide management infrastructure support to our operating portfolio companies.
